Covering 70 acres of breathtaking North Yorkshire countryside, guests are free to explore the network of paths and bridleways in the grounds of this working estate all year round, delighting in the seasonal changes of nature and abundance of wildlife.


You’re also welcome to splash around in the outdoor heated pool (open end of May to mid-September), or knock a few balls around on the tennis court and croquet lawn.


Fans of the 1990s Darling Buds of May TV drama might well recognise Red House as it featured in two episodes of the hit show. The thriving estate dates back to the 11th century and the property and surrounding land is steeped in history – anyone interested in the 17th century English Civil War can delve into the manor house’s Royalist connections, and may wish to visit the nearby site of the historic Battle of Marston Moor.

We were the first guests to stay in the new 'Garden House'. It is absolutely fantastic. All details have been thought of, very modern appliances and lovely spacious accommodation. The setting is beautiful with a great social BBQ/outside area and a stones throw from the outdoor pool. Indoor kitchen/dining/living area with log burning fire and 50inch TV is an amazing space for all the family. We cant wait to re-book.
