Whether you are seeking a weekend getaway or a luxurious longer stay, you’re sure to find the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure at the stunning Red House Estate. Couples, families, and groups of friends alike can all kick back and enjoy some precious time out from the demands of modern life by taking a break in one of our three wonderful self-catering holiday homes in this unique, beautiful environment just outside York.
Covering 70 acres of breathtaking North Yorkshire countryside, guests are free to explore the network of paths and bridleways in the grounds of this working estate all year round, delighting in the seasonal changes of nature and abundance of wildlife.
You’re also welcome to splash around in the outdoor heated pool (open end of May to mid-September), or knock a few balls around on the tennis court and croquet lawn.
Fans of the 1990s Darling Buds of May TV drama might well recognise Red House as it featured in two episodes of the hit show. The thriving estate dates back to the 11th century and the property and surrounding land is steeped in history – anyone interested in the 17th century English Civil War can delve into the manor house’s Royalist connections, and may wish to visit the nearby site of the historic Battle of Marston Moor.
